Grade 6 Performance Tasks

Students will be asked to find the measures of center (mean, median, and range) and to use those measures of center to solve problems about the weight of baseball players. Additionally, students will be asked to analyze how additional data impacts measures of center. Finally, students will create a histogram based on the weights of the baseball players.

Students will use ratios and proportions to solve problems and explain their thinking. Students will use a graph to answer proportional questions and to write an equation. Finally, students will help design a recipe for truffles given certain parameters.

Students will work with a three-dimensional figure to answer questions about volume and surface area. Students will also create a rectangular prism with a greater volume than surface area and justify their reasoning.
